Originally from Cypress, California, Kara Breitbarth came to San Luis Obispo hoping to fuel her interest in business and meet many new friends along the way. Last year she accomplished both of these goals by joining the International Fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi—a co-ed professional business fraternity focused on professionalism, community service, and brotherhood. She has taken an active role in each of these three areas while also serving in various leadership roles. Last year she was the Director of Sponsorship for their 5th Annual SLO Tour charity golf tournament, which benefited the Big Brothers Big Sisters of SLO County and the Work Training Programs, Inc. This year she serves as the Vice President of Fraternal Brotherhood and Alumni Relations. She traveled to Orlando, Florida last summer for the fraternity's centennial celebration, and plans to attend the next national event in Washington, D.C. in August of 2009.

After graduating from Cal Poly, Kara hopes to travel around Europe for a couple months before getting her CPA license and working for a regional Accounting firm in Southern California. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, watching movies, going to live concerts, and playing intramural sports such as softball and volleyball.
