Investing in the Future to Counteract Economic Downturn
In light of rising in food and gas prices, and the declining housing market, this workshop will provide tips on how to plan financially to protect yourself in times of economic strain and save for retirement without depending on social security. Finance experts use today’s “recession” as a case study to teach students how to invest wisely in the future. Also will include discussion of stocks, IRAs, portfolios, socially responsible investing, and, of course the first steps to financing a business.

Discussion within this workshop will involve the topics of adapting the hiring and training practices per culture, cultural and behavioral differences among co-workers, change in management practices based on location, and numerous considerations when managing a diverse workforce. The workshop will also discuss the changes involved when domestic companies go international and how they accommodate for differences in workforce behaviors and values.
